Robert gets the thumbs up!
13 05 2008Hadleigh High students and staff warmly welcomed author Robert Rigby (of “Goal!” and “Boy Soldier” fame) into school today. Robert spoke at length to all of years 7 and 8 about his work as a writer, the novels he has written with Andy McNab and his plans for the future. Both talks were electric with some excellent questions posed to Robert and he happily autographed his books, scraps of paper, homework diaries etc etc!
Robert also ran a script writing workshop, with GCSE Drama Students and by the end of the hour they had not only learnt about some of the techniques employed when writing scripts for television, but had to write two scenes, act them out and pitch their idea for a new TV series. It was an intense, but enjoyable hour and the students seemed to gain a lot from this experience.
